Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 14 May 2026
The short version: eSignChoice is an independent editorial publication. Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you sign up for a vendor through one of them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That money pays for our editorial work. It does not decide which tools we cover, where they rank, or what we say about them.
We publish this page because we think readers deserve to know how an editorial site stays in business and where the incentives lie. It also satisfies the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's disclosure guidelines, the UK Advertising Standards Authority code, and the EU's general transparency rules for editorial content.
1. How eSignChoice makes money
We rely on two revenue streams, in this order of importance:
- Affiliate commissions. Most of our outbound links to vendor websites are affiliate links. When a reader clicks one and goes on to subscribe, the vendor (or its affiliate network) pays us a referral fee. The size of the fee varies by vendor, but it is paid out of the vendor's marketing budget — your subscription costs the same whether you click our link or type the vendor's URL by hand.
- Display advertising. Some pages on the site carry contextual advertising served by Google AdSense. These ads are clearly identifiable. Editorial content is never written to favour an advertiser.
We do not accept sponsored posts, paid placements, or "pay-to-play" inclusion in our rankings. We do not write reviews on commission.
2. What an "affiliate link" looks like
Affiliate links on this site are marked in the page's HTML with
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", in line with Google's webmaster
guidance and FTC requirements. Most affiliate links live behind a
/go/<vendor> redirect on our domain so that we can keep track of
clicks for reporting, but the destination is always the vendor's own site.
Not every outbound link is an affiliate link — many of our references to vendor pricing, security documentation, or compliance certificates are plain reference links with no commercial relationship.
3. Vendors we currently have an affiliate relationship with
At the time of this update, eSignChoice has an active affiliate relationship — directly or through an affiliate network — with the following vendors:
- PandaDoc
- Sign.Plus (Alohi)
Other vendors we cover editorially — including DocuSign, Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign), and SignNow (airSlate) — currently have no affiliate relationship with us. Outbound links to those vendors are plain reference links and earn us nothing.
This list changes over time. If a new vendor enters the editorial scope or an affiliate program is activated or terminated, we update this page within a reasonable period. The change has no effect on the editorial ranking.
4. How editorial rankings are decided
Our ranking order is set by our editors based on hands-on testing, product documentation, pricing, plan ladders, mobile experience, compliance posture, and the workflows the tool is realistically deployed for. The same five-pillar method is applied across all vendors, whether or not they run an affiliate program.
A vendor cannot pay to rank higher. A vendor cannot pay to be added to the shortlist. A vendor's decision to run or not run an affiliate program is treated as commercially irrelevant to the editorial outcome. If a vendor's commission rate increases, decreases, or disappears, that does not change their ranking.
5. Our editorial independence guarantees
- Vendors do not preview articles before publication.
- Vendors have no input into headlines, summaries, verdicts, or pros/cons lists.
- We cover vendors whose commission rate is low or zero when they belong on the shortlist.
- We name weaknesses, plan-ladder traps, and cases where a tool is overkill — including for our top picks.
- We update rankings when the evidence changes, not when the commercial terms change.
6. What you can do as a reader
If you would prefer not to use our affiliate links — perfectly reasonable — you can navigate to the vendor's site directly by typing their address into your browser. You will still get exactly the same product, the same price, and the same plan options. We will not earn a commission, and your reading experience is unchanged.
If you have a question about a specific recommendation, want to challenge a ranking, or notice something that looks like an undisclosed commercial relationship, please contact us. We take that seriously and we will correct mistakes openly.
7. Contact
